In Cameroon, there are several competitive entrance examinations for admission into medical schools. These entrance exams are commonly known as “Concours.” The competitive exams are designed to select the most qualified candidates for various medical programs offered in universities and other higher institutions in Cameroon.
The medical programs available through the Concours include Doctor of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery. The exams are open to Cameroonian citizens and sometimes to foreign students as well, who meet the eligibility criteria for each program.
The admission process for medical schools in Cameroon is highly competitive, and the number of candidates who apply far exceeds the number of available spots. Therefore, candidates must prepare well in advance to increase their chances of success in the entrance exams.
