What is inside the eStudyUniverse app
The website and the app do different jobs. The website is where you browse and download free PDFs. The app is where you practise, compete against other students and ask questions. This is what the app holds today.
| What | How many | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Practice questions | Over 40,000 | A Level, each one with an answer and a worked explanation |
| GCE past papers and mocks | Over 1,200 | 2000 to 2026, O Level and A Level: about 640 GCE papers and about 570 mock papers |
| Concours past papers | About 160 | 13 institutions, in Engineering, Medicine, Health Sciences, Teaching and Agriculture |
| Video courses | 10 live | Academic and Digital Skills, with certificates on the courses that offer them |
| Languages | English and French | Switched any time from Profile, under Preferences |
| Devices | iPhone and Android | Papers and videos can be saved for offline study |
Solutions and mark schemes are in the app for some papers. Many papers are questions only for now, and more solutions are added over time.
The five tabs, and what each one is for
| Tab | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Home | Daily goals, XP and streak, shortcuts to the AI Tutor and your courses, and whichever competitions are running |
| GCE | Past papers and mocks by subject, filtered by level, stream, year, session and paper |
| Concours | Entrance exam papers by category and institution, with separate Questions and Solutions tabs |
| Learn | Video courses in two streams, Academic and Digital Skills |
| Arena | Practice tests, exams, assessments, and every duel and competition |
How practice works
Pick a subject, then a topic, then choose solo practice or a duel and how many questions you want: 5, 10, 20 or a number of your own. When you finish you can review every answer with its explanation, and open the leaderboard for that topic.
What is live today: practice questions cover A Level Science and A Level Arts. O Level, A Level Commercial, A Level Technical and concours practice quizzes are coming soon. Past papers are a different matter: those are already in the app for every subject listed below.
Playing against other students
- Today's 5: five questions a day, the same five for everyone in your class, played once a day.
- Duel, 1 against 1: choose an opponent from your stream or your level, or share a six letter code with a friend. You play first, then they have 24 hours to answer.
- Open duels: post a duel any student can take, or take one someone else posted. Up to three open at a time.
- Group challenges: send the same set of questions to several classmates at once.
- Weekly Cup: a weekly competition per subject. You qualify, then play knockout rounds until a champion is crowned. Past winners stay in the Hall of Fame.
- Tournaments: a private knockout cup for your own group, up to 16 players.
- Seasons: points from duels and cups build a season rank through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Legend. A season runs about four weeks.
XP, Sparks, badges and streaks
XP comes from learning and playing, and sets your level on the leaderboard. Sparks are different: they are earned only by playing real people, with a daily cap so nobody can farm them, and they are spent in the Sparks shop on profile frames and on a streak freeze. Badges mark milestones, and the daily goals and study streak are yours to set in Profile, under Learning.
The AI Tutor
Open it from Home, or tap Ask AI inside a paper or an answer review. You can type a question or photograph one from a book or a printed paper, and it explains the steps rather than only giving the answer. There is a daily allowance that resets every day, and past chats stay under the history icon. It is a study aid that sits next to your teacher and the official mark scheme, not a replacement for either.
