The 2026 TVEE results are out. This page carries the official Technical and Vocational Education Examination result lists for both Advanced Level and Intermediate Level as free PDF downloads, the national pass figures, and something you will struggle to find anywhere else — a full breakdown of every specialty examined in 2026 and what each one leads to.

Technical and vocational candidates are badly served by Cameroonian education coverage. Almost everything written about results season assumes you sat general-education GCE. This guide is written for TVEE candidates specifically.

What TVEE is

The Technical and Vocational Education Examination is run by the same Cameroon GCE Board that runs the general-education GCE, but it certifies practical trade and commercial competence rather than academic subjects. It is examined at two levels:

  • Intermediate Level (IL) — the technical equivalent of Ordinary Level, normally sat at the end of the technical secondary cycle.
  • Advanced Level (AL) — the technical equivalent of A Level, sat two years later.

The structural difference that matters: TVEE candidates pass in a specialty, not in a loose set of subjects. Your result list entry reads “Passed in ACCOUNTING Specialty” or “Passed in ELECTRICAL POWER SYSTEMS Specialty”. That specialty is the qualification, and it is what employers and technical institutions read first.

2026 TVEE results in numbers

The general-education GCE figures for the same session are broken down subject by subject on our 2026 GCE A Level statistics page, which is useful context: TVEE was one of only two examinations whose pass rate actually rose in 2026.

Aggregated from the centre-by-centre summaries printed in the two official PDFs.

Level Centres Registered Sat Passed Pass rate
TVEE Advanced Level 302 10,908 10,735 7,870 73.31%
TVEE Intermediate Level 373 29,054 27,731 16,804 60.60%
Both levels 675 39,962 38,466 24,674 64.15%

TVEE Advanced Level passed at 73.31% — higher than general-education GCE A Level, which came in at 61.94% in 2026. That is worth stating plainly, because technical candidates are routinely told their route is the lesser one. On the 2026 figures, TVEE AL candidates were more likely to pass than their A Level counterparts.

Intermediate Level is the harder gate at 60.60%. Nearly four in ten IL candidates did not pass, which makes IL the point in the technical pathway where support matters most.

How the 2026 TVEE figures sit against 2025

Press reporting on the 2025 session put Technical Advanced Level near 89.34% and Technical Intermediate Level near 67.34%. Our 2026 figures, computed from the official lists on this page, are 73.31% and 60.60%.

Taken at face value that is a drop at both levels. Two things should stop you treating it as settled. First, the 2025 numbers come from press coverage rather than a document that can be audited line by line, and published pass rates can be calculated against registered candidates rather than candidates who actually sat, which shifts the percentage. Second, our 2026 figures are calculated against candidates who sat, matching the definition the Board itself prints on every centre summary in the PDFs.

We verified the 2026 side by counting every candidate name printed in the two TVEE files: 7,870 names at Advanced Level and 16,804 at Intermediate Level, matching the centre summaries. So the 2026 figures are firm. The comparison across years is not, and we would rather say so than publish a headline about a collapse that may be an artefact of two different calculation methods.

The comparison that holds regardless is the one inside the 2026 session itself, where both years use the same source and the same definition: technical candidates at Advanced Level passed at 73.31% against 61.94% for general-education A Level candidates.

Every TVEE specialty examined in 2026

The tables below list each specialty and the number of examination centres that presented at least one successful candidate in it. Centre count is a reasonable proxy for how widely a specialty is taught, though not for how many candidates sat it.

What the specialty spread tells you

Commercial specialties dominate. Accounting is the most widely taught specialty at both levels, and Marketing sits in the top four at both. Together they mean a large share of TVEE candidates are entering business and commerce, not the trades most people picture when they hear “technical school”.

Automobile Repairs Mechanics is taught at 178 IL centres and disappears entirely at Advanced Level. That is one of the clearest signals in the data: candidates finishing IL in automobile mechanics either enter the workforce, move to a different specialty, or take up apprenticeship rather than continuing to TVEE AL.

Some specialties are nearly extinct as taught subjects. Tourism, Surveying, Biomedical Equipment Maintenance, and Agriculture — Poultry Production appear at one to three centres nationally. If you passed in one of these, you are part of a very small national cohort, which is a genuine advantage when a specialised employer is hiring and a disadvantage when you are looking for peers or teaching materials.

Construction and electrical trades are the technical backbone. Civil Engineering — Building Construction and Electrical Power Systems are top-four at both levels, and they carry straight into Cameroon’s construction and energy sectors.

Where TVEE takes you next

If you passed TVEE Intermediate Level

Your main routes are TVEE Advanced Level in the same or a related specialty, entry into a technical training institution, or apprenticeship in your trade. Given IL’s 60.60% pass rate, if you passed you have cleared the harder of the two technical gates.

If you passed TVEE Advanced Level

TVEE AL opens doors that many technical candidates do not realise are open to them:

  • Higher technical institutions. Technical universities and institutes admit TVEE AL holders, often specifically preferring them for engineering and applied programmes because of the practical grounding.
  • Entrance examinations. Several Cameroonian concours accept technical candidates, and some engineering-oriented ones actively favour applicants with hands-on specialty training. ENSET Douala and ENSET Bambili train technical teachers and are natural destinations. IUT Douala is another strong technical route.
  • Direct employment. Electrical Power Systems, Civil Engineering, Plumbing, and Welding certifications are hiring qualifications in their own right.
  • Self-employment. Fashion Design, Carpentry, Automobile Mechanics and Accounting specialties support independent practice with relatively low startup capital.

If you did not pass

Resit registration follows the same Board process as general-education GCE, and the deadlines are equally unforgiving. See GCE resit registration in Cameroon. If you believe a result is wrong, the remark and recheck window is short — start immediately.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between TVEE and GCE?

Both are run by the Cameroon GCE Board. GCE certifies general academic subjects; TVEE certifies technical and vocational specialties. TVEE Intermediate Level corresponds broadly to O Level, and TVEE Advanced Level to A Level.

Can I go to university with TVEE Advanced Level?

Yes. TVEE AL is a recognised Advanced Level qualification and is accepted for higher education entry, particularly at technical institutions and for applied programmes. Requirements vary by institution and programme, so confirm with the specific school.

Why does my result say “Passed in ACCOUNTING Specialty”?

TVEE certifies you in a named specialty rather than a set of separate subjects. The specialty is the qualification employers and institutions read.

Was the 2026 TVEE pass rate good?

TVEE Advanced Level passed at 73.31%, above general-education GCE A Level at 61.94%. TVEE Intermediate Level passed at 60.60%, below GCE O Level at 74.50%.

How many candidates sat TVEE in 2026?

38,466 candidates sat across both levels at 675 centres, and 24,674 passed — an overall rate of 64.15%.
