When Are GCE Grade Sheets Issued?
Grade sheets are released when the Cameroon GCE Board publishes results, usually between June and August. The 2026 results were released on 21 August 2026. Schools distribute slips to candidates. Some regions also provide online or delegation access. Always treat your school slip or GCE Board communication as the only valid source.
Do not trust WhatsApp PDFs, unofficial websites, or scraped name lists. They are often wrong and may contain other students’ private data.

Understanding O Level Grades
O Level grades show whether you completed Form 5 requirements. Grades A to C are strong passes for most purposes. Lower grades may still carry credit depending on subject and school policy. A U grade means you did not reach the minimum standard for that subject.
Count how many subjects you passed in core areas: English, Mathematics, and sciences if you plan science A Level or concours. If you missed one subject, resit planning starts now rather than waiting until registration deadlines pass.

Understanding A Level Grades
A Level grades determine university admission and concours eligibility. Medical and engineering paths usually require strong passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. Read each subject grade against the requirements of your target faculty or concours institution.

Your grade sheet lists a candidate number unique to your registration. Match this number on every official document you submit to universities and concours offices. Subject codes may appear as abbreviations; cross-check against the legend printed on your slip or the GCE Board candidate guide for your session.
If a subject name is misspelled but the code is correct, note the discrepancy and ask your school to confirm with the Board before assuming an administrative error changed your grade.
Comparing O Level and A Level Slips Side by Side
Students who sat both levels in different years should keep separate slips organised by year. University admissions may request O Level proof even when you apply with A Level grades. Concours offices sometimes verify O Level Mathematics and English regardless of A Level performance.
Private candidates who sat outside a traditional school should verify that their slip shows the correct centre code. Errors here block resit registration until corrected through official channels.

What the 2026 Grade Distribution Tells You
A grade only means something against the field that sat with you. The GCE Board released the 2026 results on 21 August 2026, and the published statistics put every individual slip in context.
At Advanced Level, 69,947 candidates sat and 43,211 passed, a pass rate of 61.78 percent. In 2025 that figure was 79.39 percent. A drop of more than seventeen points in a single session is unusual, and it means a 2026 grade is not directly comparable with the same letter earned a year earlier.
The distribution also varied enormously by subject. Religious Studies returned 86.57 percent and English Language 76.31 percent, while Pure Mathematics with Statistics returned 21.14 percent and Information and Communication Technology 34.04 percent. A D in Pure Mathematics with Statistics in 2026 placed a candidate well inside the upper half of everyone who sat it. A D in English Language did not.
Two practical conclusions follow. First, do not judge your slip against what an older sibling scored in an earlier session, because the sessions are not equivalent. Second, when you show your grades to a faculty or an employer, the subject matters as much as the letter, and the harder subjects are recognised as such by people who read these sheets every year.
Keep a Copy of the Board Statistics With Your Slip
When you file your grade sheet, save the official statistics release for the same session alongside it. In a year like 2026, where the Advanced Level pass rate fell to 61.78 percent from 79.39 percent, the context sheet is what allows anyone reading your grades later to judge them properly. Interview panels, scholarship committees, and equivalence offices all assess a result against its session. Having both documents in one folder saves you explaining from memory, and it costs nothing to do on the day you receive the slip.
Keep the subject level figures too. If your combination included Pure Mathematics with Statistics, which passed at 21.14 percent, or Information and Communication Technology, which passed at 34.04 percent, that is worth being able to show rather than assert.
