GCE Biology Past Questions: Complete Guide for Cameroon Students
GCE Biology past questions are essential for every Cameroon student preparing for the General Certificate of Education at Ordinary Level and Advanced Level. On eStudyUniverse you can download free GCE Biology past questions with answers covering Papers 1, 2, and 3 from 2010 to present. Biology is one of the highest volume GCE subjects in Cameroon, taken by students aiming for medicine, nursing, agriculture, and many other university courses. Practising with real examination papers helps you understand how the Cameroon GCE Board tests each topic and how marks are awarded. Visit our free GCE past questions PDF hub to browse all subjects in one place.
GCE O Level Biology papers explained. At Ordinary Level, Biology is examined through three papers. Paper 1 is a multiple choice paper lasting one hour. It tests cell biology, genetics, ecology, classification, and human physiology through short questions with four options. Paper 2 is a structured theory paper where you write answers of five to eight sentences using correct biological terminology. Examiners deduct marks for vague language even when your concept is partially correct. Paper 3 is the practical paper where you identify specimens, draw labelled diagrams, and describe experimental procedures. Many students lose marks on Paper 3 because they skip practical revision and focus only on theory. Download at least five years of O Level Paper 3 past questions and study the diagrams, dissection methods, and observation tables carefully.
GCE A Level Biology papers explained. Advanced Level Biology goes deeper into biochemistry, genetics, ecology, and human physiology. Paper 1 at A Level is multiple choice but the questions require stronger analytical thinking and data interpretation than O Level. Paper 2 includes longer structured questions that often combine two topics, such as a genetics question linked to evolution or a physiology question linked to homeostasis. Paper 3 at A Level tests practical skills including microscopy, biochemical tests, and ecological sampling methods. Marking guides on eStudyUniverse show you precisely how examiners award marks for each section, which is invaluable for self assessment.
How to use GCE Biology past questions effectively. Start with the most recent papers from 2022, 2023, and 2024 to learn the current format and mark scheme style. Attempt each paper under timed conditions before opening the marking guide. For Paper 1, focus on the four topics that account for the majority of multiple choice questions across all years: cell biology, genetics, ecology, and classification. For Paper 2, practise writing structured answers with correct terminology and labelled diagrams where required. After marking, identify your three weakest topics and return to your notes for those areas. Repeat this cycle weekly. Students who complete at least ten years of past papers per subject consistently outperform those who rely on textbooks alone.
Subject specific study tips for GCE Biology. Cell biology and genetics appear in almost every paper at both levels. Master the structure of plant and animal cells, mitosis and meiosis, and monohybrid and dihybrid crosses with plenty of past paper examples. Ecology questions often require you to interpret food webs, population graphs, and conservation scenarios. Human physiology topics including the digestive system, circulatory system, and respiration are frequently tested in Paper 2. At A Level, pay special attention to photosynthesis and respiration biochemical pathways, enzyme kinetics, and genetic engineering applications. Keep a glossary of biological terms you encounter in past papers and review it before each mock examination.
Mock papers and regional centres. In addition to official GCE Board papers, eStudyUniverse hosts mock examination papers from experienced teachers at regional centres across Cameroon including the Littoral and North West. These mocks closely mirror the difficulty of the real examination and are excellent preparation in the weeks before June. Combine official papers from 2010 onward with two or three recent mock papers for a complete revision programme. All standard papers are free PDF downloads labelled XAF 0.
Biology for medical and science pathways. Strong GCE Biology results open doors to medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and biomedical sciences at universities across Cameroon. Medical concours candidates also benefit from Biology past paper practice alongside Chemistry and Physics. If you are preparing for both GCE and entrance examinations, build a revision timetable that rotates between Biology theory papers on Monday and Wednesday and practical Paper 3 practice on Friday. Track your scores in a notebook and aim for steady improvement across ten weeks before the June examination session.
Choosing the right papers on this page. Use the level tabs below to switch between O Level and A Level Biology papers. Within each level, papers are organised by year from most recent to oldest. Look for marking guides labelled Solutions or Mark Guide next to the question paper download link. Start with three recent years, then work backward to build depth across the full syllabus.
When you encounter a difficult concept such as genetics crosses or biochemical pathways, the eStudyUniverse app gives you an AI tutor that explains Biology step by step, offline mode so downloaded papers work without internet during load shedding, and 1v1 challenges where you compete with classmates on the same past paper questions. Install the app free from the Google Play Store and carry your entire GCE Biology library on your phone.

How to Score High Using GCE Biology Past Questions
GCE Biology past questions from 2010 to present reveal clear patterns in what the Cameroon GCE Board tests year after year. Students who study these patterns consistently outperform those who rely only on textbooks. Here is the approach that works.
Start with the most recent papers first. The 2022, 2023, and 2024 GCE Biology past questions show you the current format and mark scheme style. Attempt each paper under timed conditions before checking the answers.
For Paper 1, focus on cell biology, genetics, ecology, and classification. These four topics account for the majority of multiple choice questions across all years of GCE Biology past questions. For Paper 2, practise writing structured answers of five to eight sentences with correct biological terminology. Examiners deduct marks for vague language even when the concept is correct.
For Paper 3, which is the practical paper, study the diagrams, dissection methods, and experimental procedures in past papers from at least five years. The practical component is where most students lose marks unnecessarily because they skip it during revision.
eStudyUniverse carries GCE Biology past questions with marking guides for Papers 1, 2, and 3 going back to 2010. The marking guides show you precisely how examiners award marks so you can self-assess accurately. Download the papers below and begin today.

GCE A Level Biology in Cameroon covers Cell Theory,
Nutrition, Transport in Plants and Animals, Respiration,
Reproduction, Genetics and Evolution, Taxonomy,
Histology, Coordination, and Ecology. The syllabus is
set by the Cameroon GCE Board and assessed across
three papers.
GCE A Level Biology in Cameroon has three papers:
Paper 1 (multiple choice, 1.5 hours), Paper 2
(structured questions, 2.5 hours), and Paper 3 (practical
or alternative to practical, 1.5 hours). All three papers
contribute to the final grade.
To pass GCE Biology with distinction, practise past
